This unique globe from the 1940s is specially designed for visually impaired and blind people and is characterized by the use of Braille. Made of robust plastic, the globe has a height of 44 cm and a diameter of approx. 30 cm.
The Earth’s surface is detailed with raised reliefs and Braille lettering, allowing countries, capitals and geographical features to be identified by touch. This globe not only serves as an educational tool, but also as a historical collector’s item.
It impresses with its authentic representation and is a fascinating object for collectors of vintage learning aids or historical teaching material. A rare and valuable piece that impresses in both its functionality and its historical significance. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
