Description

Chinese porcelain Cizhou kiln dragon Mei Ping, a finely formed, plum shaped vase with a creamy white glazed exterior and interior and a unglazed base. A single, Song style, dark brown dragon, in finely carved sgraffito, decorates the body of the vase and is bracketed by large, leafy lappets at the shoulder and foot. The short neck has a band of sgraffito clouds. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
