Vintage Design
A special double sided railway station clock by renowned Great British Clock maker Gents of Leicester circa 1950.
Salvaged from a train station in the West Midlands where it originally hung on a on a railway platform providing time for millions of commuters throughout the later half of the 1900’s.
A dial and hand design not commonly seen with a clean style which is simple and unadorned with hand painted indices for the hour and minute positions and Gent of Leicester marking.
The clock was in a state of disrepair externally so the decision was made to strip, sand blast and powder coat in black satin to return the clock close to its original finish.
The original slave movements have been retained and a modern impulse driver installed which can be mains or battery run on request which can be all accessed via a hinged dial to one side of the clock which can be opened to access the inner workings.
This beautiful clock currently has a conduit fitting to fix to the ceiling. This can be adapted to suit the buyer.
In a private setting this clock would work well over a kitchen island. In a commercial setting would look great in a bar restaurant or reception area.
