Indian carved wooden wall candlestick. 19th century
Superb Indian wall candlestick carved in wood and dating from the 19th century.
These were originally the ends of interior beams from luxurious houses or temples that were cut, probably during renovation work, and then recovered to make candleholders.
The beams must have been painted, as traces of green paint can be seen on the candlestick.
A rare and finely worked 19th century piece.
Very decorative and elegant.
In very good condition.
