Ananas or pineapple shaped sugar bowls were popular in the late 19th century, and continue to be made today. This sugar bowl with under plate and cover is made of pale pink and pale green frosted opaline glass.

This set is in good original condition, but has losses to the tips of the leaves of the under plate and minor losses to the body of the pineapple sugar bowl and cover.
