Leather Kangaroo by Dimitri Omersa, 1960s-1970s

It is one of Dimitri Omersa’s coveted leather objects, in this case in the shape of a kangaroo – a particularly rare and very large shape. Omersa (1927 – 1985) not only made impressive craftsmanship, but above all also attractive, decorative leather animals – which were initially only sold by the British department store Liberty. Later also by the American company Abercrombie & Fitch, until the 1980s. This model was designed in the 1960s and later executed, probably in the 1970s. Omersa has designed and manufactured a selection of different animals – in different sizes. Dimensions approx. Height 91 cm – 35.83 in, Depth approx. 70 cm – 27.56 in, Width 52.5 cm – 20.67 in.
